Media and information literacy is a flagship of our work. On all sides of the digital divide, everyone needs the necessary competencies to access, eva- luate critically, interact with and produce useful, timely and relevant informa- tion. UNESCO approaches media and information literacy MIL as a composite concept, re- flecting the symbiosis between information and the media generated by the new technology. In line with Goal 5 Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls of the SDGs, GAPMIL believes that gender equality is critical in consolidating the democratic momentum and im- perative for the global development drive.
